The Independent Living Skills Program serves youth in Tehama County who are in out-of-home placement after their sixteenth birthday, until
they reach the age of twenty-one. The goal of the program is to help these young people learn and practice the independent living skills they
need to live on their own. A case manager assists them in such tasks as obtaining identification documents and a driver's license, composing a resumé, and opening a bank account.
The program offers monthly life skills workshops and access to a household goods closet. The youth are also eligible to participate in the Adopt-A-Family
and Adopt-A-Grad programs of NVCSS.
