GIVE A CHILD AN EXPERIENCE

TO BUILD THEIR CONFIDENCE

Helping Children Start the School Year with Confidence

Gear Up & Go! is a back-to-school shopping experience hosted by Northern Valley Catholic Social Service in partnership with Kohl’s Cares. The event supports children in Redding and Chico referred through NVCSS programs and our community partners by providing the opportunity to shop for new clothing, shoes, and school essentials before the start of the school year.

Each child is paired with a volunteer shopping buddy who helps create a supportive, encouraging, and personalized shopping experience while helping them choose items that fit their needs, style, and personality. More than a shopping trip, Gear Up & Go! helps children feel confident, cared for, and prepared for the year ahead.
