Description:

We are looking for two compassionate and dependable Peer Operators to serve the Warm Line at the Iversen Wellness Center. Under the direction of the Program Supervisor, this position will assist callers and community members in achieving their goals through non-crisis mental health peer to peer support over the phone.

Examples of Duties:

The ideal candidate must be able to work with, support and respect diverse groups of people. Provide peer counseling and mentoring on a one-to-one basis over the phone while practicing active, empathetic and reflective listening. Provide assistance in navigating the mental health system and provide referrals to appropriate services. Maintain confidentiality, professionalism and respect in all interactions. Attend and support staff meetings or events, professional development training and perform related duties as assigned.


Salary:

Starting Range: $16.00 (Step A) - $16.97 (Step C)

Minimum Employment Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED. Priority will be given to candidates who have lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery. Mental health consumers are highly encouraged to apply. Ability to attend and be on time at scheduled shifts. Experience with problem solving, crisis assessment and conflict management. Have basic phone and computer skills. This individual must be able to use good judgment, work independently as well as work with a team to serve callers. At least one year in helping professions and local community experience are preferred.

Warm Line Operations: Open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, from 4:30 PM - 9:30 PM

Work Schedule:
One Shift will be 20-26 hours per week, four-five set shifts from 4:20 PM - 9:35PM, with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts. This position will be Peer Certified within the year.
One Shift will be 15 hours per week, three set shifts from 4:20 PM - 9:35PM, with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts.
