Family Academy

te-fam-200x204Learning to “live like a family” is the primary goal of family-focused education. Many parental competencies are necessary to successfully meet the ever-changing challenges of life. Family education is important when fighting issues of poverty. Although POVERTY is characterized by insufficient income for basic needs, it is usually broader than that. It also means lack of access to other resources such as educational opportunities and affordable healthcare. The Red Bluff and Corning Family Resource Centers work together with community partners and volunteers to improve the quality of individual, family and community lives through education and human service programs.

We provide:

  • Getting ready for immigration reform
  • EL/CIVICS and citizenship preparation
  • Family-based ESL classes
  • Spanish for Fun
  • Financial literacy
  • Elder Services education and workshops
  • Job readiness classes
  • Cooking classes for diabetics
  • Computer classes/labs
  • Play and Grow groups
  • Diet and nutrition classes (also for seniors)
  • How to make your (food stamps) food dollars stretch
  • Family-focused activities and classes
  • Reading together with your child
