I am married to my high school sweetheart for 31 years and we have four children. I am a supporter of youth sports, love camping boating and traveling, along with spending time with family.

Why do you choose to be on the NVCSS Board of Directors? To be part of the work of NVCSS, which helps those who may be experiencing difficult times in many different ways and environments. I’m proud to support an organization and staff committed to serving our communities with love and competence.
I am married with two children. We are an active family and enjoy Redding’s wonderful parks and trails, as well as traveling to other interesting places. We are members of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Redding.

I am a retired healthcare marketing and sales executive. I have two sons and two grandchildren. I grew up in Oakland and enjoy watching baseball.

Why do you choose to be on the NVCSS Board of Directors: I believe in the mission and feel that NVCSS is the foremost organization in the north state in meeting the needs of our community. I hope that my CPA/consulting experience would be of benefit to the board.
I have three children and four grandchildren – with two more on the way. I enjoy traveling throughout the USA, Canada and Europe, along with fly fishing and golf.

Why do you choose to be on the NVCSS Board of Directors: I choose to be on the NVCSS Board because I feel that the agency makes a significant impact in the community, is strategic and the individuals care very deeply about doing the most good.
I have a husband in law enforcement and two girls. I enjoy running in my free time, especially with friends.

Why do you choose to be on the NVCSS Board of Directors: The rate of success of the programs that NVCSS offers to their cllientele and our community. NVCSS’s record of dedication and commitment of reaching their goals of positively changing the lives of their clientele and people in our community is exceptional. The care and concern of the staff, board members and volunteers are genuine.
My husband Jim, retired Shasta County Sheriff, and I enjoy family, friends, church, reading and traveling. So far I have traveled to Europe, the Far East, Israel, the Caribbean, Costa Rica and Mexico. In 2015 we took a one week cruise of the Alaska Inland Passage and a one week land tour of Alaska. We are now planning a trip to several of our Western states.

Why do you choose to be on the NVCSS Board of Directors: I believe in the mission of NVCSS and the scope of work they do. I love being a part of and helping direct the course of service to our community.
I am a mother of four and grandmother to six. I have traveled around the world, have extended family in India, Africa, Europe, Canada and Australia. I am a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Mercy and member of the CASA Regional Board. I also love to bake and create yummy treats.

I have been married for 56 years. My wife and I have five children, nine grandkids and four great-grandkids. I practiced dermatology in Chico for 30 years and have served as a permanent deacon in my parish for the past 20 years.

Why do you choose to be on the NVCSS Board of Directors: I choose to be a part of NVCSS because uniquely it possesses many levels of assistance spanning so many different needs demographically within the North State. The staff at NVCSS is really what drives the success of the programs offered by the agency. I am honored to be a part of an organization whose staff possess so much drive, passion and ability to make each program function properly in order to assist those who are in need.
I am a 5th generation Shasta County Native. I have been married to Bridgit Coughlin Shoffner for twenty great years. We are blessed with 11 year old twins, Luke and Thea who attend St. Joseph School in Redding. Our life involves all of their many activities from sports to music. We enjoy spending time traveling, hiking and backpacking in the beautiful surroundings available to us in the North State.

Why do you choose to be on the NVCSS Board of Directors: I have served on the St. Joseph School Board and the NVCSS Advisory Board and I wanted to continue to be involved in Catholic charities in our area, which provide so many wonderful programs and services in our community.
I have been involved in forestry education and Catholic education in the north state for the past 30 years. With my husband Dan, we have three children and enjoy snow skiing, hiking and traveling to Hawaii. Recently, Dan and I have visited Italy, France and Spain. We are looking forward to visiting Cuba in the near future.

Why do you choose to be on the NVCSS Board of Directors: I was invited by past Executive Director Jan Maurer Watkins to advance from the Advisory Board. I have felt privileged to serve with so many visionary people, both staff or board.
I am a Redding resident of 57 years, married to Lou for 59 years. We have four children all born at Mercy Hospital. I am a member of All Saints Episcopal Church. Lou and I have enjoyed world-wide travel through Rotary International.
