    Why do you choose to be on the NVCSS Board of Directors: The true measure of any society can be revealed in how it treats it’s most vulnerable citizens. NVCSS has a proven track record of providing life-changing resources and services to the people in our community who need it most. It’s an honor to serve on the Board of such a compassionate and impactful organization.

    Mr. Kitzman has an extensive background in education specializing in technology and the humanities. Mr. Kitzman holds a Master’s degree in Medical Informatics (MS-MMI) from Northwestern University and is a graduate of the Clinic Leadership Institute Emerging Leaders Program -an executive training program aimed at health care professionals committed to serving the safety net. He also volunteers as a Board Officer for SacValley MedShare, a 15 county Health Information Exchange serving Northern California.

    Why do you choose to be on the NVCSS Board of Directors: I believe in the mission of NVCSS and want to support an agency that is truly making a difference in the community: through the development of affordable housing projects, and giving hope and compassion to those in need.

    I am a 5th generation North State native with roots in Tehama, Shasta, and Siskiyou counties. My husband and I enjoy our time with family and friends. I especially enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time at our family ranch.

    Why do you choose to be on the NVCSS Board of Directors: I believe in community and in mission. NVCSS is an exemplary organization that takes people from our community, both paid and volunteers, to help others who need a hand up, who are also members of our community. I have worked with teenagers for over 20 years and hope to bring a perspective to the board that the average business person might not have thought about.

    I have been married to Dean Germano for over 34 years and we have 3 wonderful adult children. I love to read and anything to do with the outdoors.

    Why do you choose to be on the NVCSS Board of Directors: I believe in the mission and feel that NVCSS is the foremost organization in the north state in meeting the needs of our community. I hope that my CPA/consulting experience would be of benefit to the board.

    I have three children and six grandchildren. I enjoy traveling throughout the USA, Canada and Europe, along with fly fishing and golf.

    Why do you choose to be on the NVCSS Board of Directors? To be part of the work of NVCSS, which helps those who may be experiencing difficult times in many different ways and environments. I’m proud to support an organization and staff committed to serving our communities with love and competence.

    I am married with two children. We are an active family and enjoy Redding’s wonderful parks and trails, as well as traveling to other interesting places. We are members of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Redding.

    Why do you choose to be on the NVCSS Board of Directors: I choose to be a part of NVCSS because uniquely it possesses many levels of assistance spanning so many different needs demographically within the North State. The staff at NVCSS is really what drives the success of the programs offered by the agency. I am honored to be a part of an organization whose staff possess so much drive, passion and ability to make each program function properly in order to assist those who are in need.

    I am a 5th generation Shasta County Native. I have been married to Bridgit Coughlin Shoffner for over twenty great years. We are blessed with high-school age twins, Luke and Thea who attend Shasta High School in Redding. Our life involves all of their many activities from sports to music. We enjoy spending time traveling, hiking and backpacking in the beautiful surroundings available to us in the North State.

    Why do you choose to be on the NVCSS Board of Directors: I believe in the mission of NVCSS and the scope of work they do. I love being a part of and helping direct the course of service to our community.

    I am a mother of four and grandmother to six. I have traveled around the world, have extended family in India, Africa, Europe, Canada and Australia. I am a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Mercy and member of the CASA Regional Board. I also love to bake and create yummy treats.

    Why do you choose to be on the NVCSS Board of Directors: The rate of success of the programs that NVCSS offers to their clientele and our community. NVCSS’s record of dedication and commitment of reaching their goals of positively changing the lives of their clientele and people in our community is exceptional. The care and concern of the staff, board members and volunteers are genuine.

    My husband Jim, retired Shasta County Sheriff, and I enjoy family, friends, church, reading and traveling. So far I have traveled to Europe, the Far East, Israel, the Caribbean, Costa Rica and Mexico. In 2015 we took a one week cruise of the Alaska Inland Passage and a one week land tour of Alaska. We are now planning a trip to several of our Western states.

    Why do you choose to be on the NVCSS Board of Directors: I choose to be on the NVCSS Board because I feel that the agency makes a significant impact in the community, is strategic and the individuals care very deeply about doing the most good.

    I have two girls, active in sports. I enjoy running in my free time, especially with friends.

    Why do you choose to be on the NVCSS Board of Directors: It expresses my diaconal commitment of service to others.

    My wife Kate and I have six married children and 18 grandchildren. I have been an ordained deacon since June of 1981.
