Join our Housing team and make a difference in the lives of our diverse tenants primarily at our Woodlands I and II facilities! We're looking for a compassionate, adaptable, and responsible individual to provide essential support. The ideal candidate will have a range of skills including carpentry, maintenance, and repair. Experience with HVAC systems, appliances, pool maintenance, and community gates is a plus. If you're dependable and eager to make a positive impact, we want to hear from you!Examples of Duties:
- Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician, such as repairing drywall, painting, as well as repairing doors and other building fixtures.
- Maintain all NVCSS-owned/rented property in good repair and operating condition
- Perform janitorial tasks and light maintenance on all structures, utilities, and other building components including commercial and office buildings
- Perform minor landscaping services (pruning, etc.) as needed not covered in landscaping contracts
- Install and repair office equipment or furniture or making modifications to any of the above to maintain working order
- Assist with set up and clean up for special events, agency meetings, workshops, etc.
- Perform general maintenance on facilities owned by NVCSS in order to prepare office space for the next commercial tenants
- Provide emergency services to resident managers as a general source of reference or for emergency repairs, as needed
Salary:
Starting at $19.14 (Step A) - $20.31 (Step C)Minimum Employment Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience in the area of general property maintenance and janitorial services. Ability to follow instructions from supervisors. Knowledge of general carpentry and repair. Ability to use hand tools and power tools. Self motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs.Must have a Driver's License, vehicle, and insurance. Knowledge of OSHA safety procedures involved in construction and repair work, safety procedures when using hazardous materials, public health and safety standards, equipment operating techniques and procedures, and pipe sizes, uses, and applications for water, sewage, etc.
