Description:

Under the direct supervision of the licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), a Clinical Trainee provides individual and group therapy services to clients as part of the College's program. The Clinical Trainee will receive individual or group clinical supervision in accordance with BBS stipulations. This position is a temporary part time position, working from 24 hours, up to 30 hours per week. It is contingent upon the enrollment of the College's program.

Examples of Duties:

  • Providing individual, family, and group therapy to children, and adolescents;
  • Conducts pre and post assessment related to emotional health needs;
  • Provides direct therapy services to clients
  • Consults with teachers, school psychologists, administrators and other school staff regarding students’ social-emotional needs related to education 
  • Provides written reports of services within bounds of confidentiality regulations
  • Uses personal vehicle to drive to schools and other locations to perform mental health services as needed
  • Maintains all requirements of MFT internship
  • Completing ongoing case notes and progress and summation reports, as required
  • Attending and participating in weekly staff meetings
  • Providing backup for telephone crisis calls as needed
  • Participating in training provided by the Agency
  • Performing related duties as required

Minimum Employment Qualifications:

Graduate students within a Masters level education program (MFT Trainee or MSW Intern) to provide mental health and wellness-based intervention services to children and families at school sites. Ability to work independently and as part of a team and effectively with other professionals. Ability to work in a community and agency structure. Knowledge of Google and Microsoft Suites. Documentation standards associated with public and private health, social service, and law enforcement agencies.
